Flamenco Boost courses
Hello, my name is Maria Aliaga. I am a flamenco dancer, creator and director of Flamenco a la Mexicana, a multidisciplinary artistic project that since 2014 I have produced different flamenco shows that I have presented with my company in Mexico City, New York and Harvard University, videodance projects that have participated and won in some International Film Festivals (Israel, United States, Rusia, Brasil, Rumania, Italy, France, Portugal, among others), and also my flamenco fashion collection that I presented at the Salón Internacional de la Moda Flamenca SIMOF in Sevilla in 2020.
As a teacher, I have taught for more than a decade at different academies at Mexico City, at Youth Reintegration centers, at women´s prisions, at the John Langdon Down Foundation for children and young people with down syndrome and at last but obviously not at least, at Harvard University.
Throughout my twenty-year career in dance, I have studied with great flamenco figures (Noelia Vicente, Alfonso Losa, Antonio Canales, la Winy Amaya, among many others) in Mexico and Spain, both in the Foundation of Cristina Heeren in Seville and in Amor de Dios in Madrid.
I have been part of dance companies like Adonays Flamenco Company and worked in tablaos in Mexico, Germany and USA with Isaac and Nino de los Reyes and Farruquito opening his show Improvisao in Lunario in Mexico City.
